Seedling (cedar) app for iPhone and iPad

Seedling (cedar) is a location-based audio-visual artwork that presents a germinating western red cedar Thuja plicata into an inspiring augmented reality installation on the surface of Lafarge Lake. Seedling invites the user to stroll around the lake while observing a giant, baby tree and to interact by blending it into its surrounding environment.

Seedling is the latest work in Hyung-Min Yoon’s multidisciplinary conceptual practice, combining elements of her existing practices of sculpture and photography. This is Yoon’s first inquiry into the new medium of augmented reality and continues her exploration of language, translation, and the elemental roots of meaning.
